What We Believe

About God ...

He is the Creator and ruler of the universe. God knows all things, is all powerful, and transcends time and space. He exists eternally in three person - God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal and are one God. God is a personal being who has revealed Himself to be perfect in His love and is Holy in all His ways. (Genesis 1:1; Psalms 90:2; Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14; 1 Timothy 1:17)

About Humanity ...

Humanity was created in God's image and every human being is of infinite value to Him. As spiritual beings, humans are created to be in relationship with God. Evil and sin entered the world in the Garden of Eden when Adam and Eve chose to disobey God. Affected with a sinful nature as a result, humans are unholy, self-centered, and rebellious toward God. The penalty of sin and disobedience is death and eternal separation from God. (Genesis 1:27, 3:13-17; Psalms 8:3-6; Romans 3:23; Isaiah 59:1-2)

About Life After Death ...

We are created as human to exist forever. We will exist eternally, separated from God by our sin, or live forever with God through forgiveness and salvation. The place of eternal separation from God is Hell - a place of pain and torment. Heaven is the place for eternal life and blessing with God. (Matthew 25:41, John 3:16, 14:16; Revelation 20:15, 21:27)

About Jesus Christ ...

Jesus Christ is the Son of God who is co-equal with the Father. Jesus was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, and was crucified on a cross as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all mankind. He arose from the dead after three days in the grave to demonstrate His power over sin and death. After appearing to more than 500 people, He returned to Heaven to His Father and will return again to earth to reign as King of kings and Lord of lords. (Isaiah 9:6; Matthew 1:22-23; John 1:1-5, 14:1; Acts 1:9-11; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4)

About Salvation ...

Salvation is a free gift from God to all people. Men and women cannot ever make up for their sins by self-improvement or by doing good deeds. Only by trusting in Jesus Christ as God's offer for forgiveness can any person be saved from sin's penalty. It is through repentance and personal faith in Jesus Christ that our sins are forgiven; we receive the Holy Spirit, become children of God, and thus begin our eternal lives. (John 14:6; Romans 5:1, 6:23; Galatians 3:26; Ephesians 2:8-9; Titus 3:5)

About the Holy Spirit ...

The Holy Spirit is equal with God the Father and God the Son. He is present in the world to make us aware of our need for Jesus Christ. He lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation. He provides the believer with the power for living a victorious life, understanding spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right. (John 14:16-17, 16:7-13; Acts 1:9-11; Galatians 5:25; Ephesians 5:11)

About the Bible ...

The Bible is the inspired word of God and is the final authority for a Christian's faith and living. It is of supreme truth, without error. (Psalms 119:105; Matthew 4:4; 2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20-21)
